Future of school connected to Little Pebble in doubt

ABC Illawarra (Australia)/November 23, 2005

The NSW Board of Studies says it is still not clear if St Joseph's School near Nowra will remain open next year.

The school is affiliated with the Order of St Charbel at Cambewarra, a group which was formerly moderated by William Kamm otherwise known as the Little Pebble.

Kamm has been sentenced to a minimum of three-and-a-half years jail after being convicted of sexual assault in October and is now facing further charges.

Earlier this month self-proclaimed bishop of the order Malcolm Broussard was stripped of his rights and authority as a priest of the Catholic church.

The principal of St Joseph's, David Williams, will be leaving the school at the end of this year.

The board of studies has asked for further information before deciding if the school will be open in 2006.
