Has Rev. Moon lost his mind, or does he have a hotline to heaven?

According to full page ads paid for by Rev. Sun Myung Moon in newspapers across America, relgious leaders in "Spirit World" had a meeting to confer special heavenly status upon him. Martin Luther, Karl Marx, Confucius, Jesus and God in a meeting last Christmas, unanimously decided that Moon is the "Savior, Messiah and King of Kings of all humanity." This announcement was run in dozens of newspapers this month.

The 7,000 word ad, titled "The Cloud of Witnesses: The Saints' Testimonies to the True Parents," claims that even deceased Communist leaders, acknoweledge Mr. Moon's importance and his role in the world. And the five "great religions of the world" gave him their blessings in a "spirit world seminar."

Rev. Moon is the absolute leader of the Unification Church, which has often been called a "brainwashing cult." His followers have historically been referred to as "Moonies."

Moon spent $7,800 in Utah papers alone, and is running his announcement in 45 newspapers nationwide.

The ad reads like the minutes of a meeting and claims that representatives of Christianity, Confucianism, Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism were all there. According to the minutes Jesus himself gave the closing prayer, followed by three cheers led by Muhammad. The meeting ended with an ovation.

According to Rev. Moon, Jesus called him as Messiah in 1935, with duties in both the visible and unseen world. Rev. Moon claims Jesus was unable to complete his work and needed him to finish the job. Part of Moon's holy task is to unite all world religions, through his own Unification Church.

The ad further stated that Moon has done such a great job, that even Josef Stalin can now see the error of his ways. Stalin, supposedly speaking from Hell according to the meeting's minutes said, "Our beliefs are wrong."

Some might think that Rev. Moon, now 82, has perhaps become senile and deluded. But one Unification Church leader in Utah insisted instead, "Something important must be happening in the spiritual world now."
