Torching Travolta's "Battlefield"

Who knows if scientology broke up Tom and Nicole, but it's certainly to blame for something far more ugly: "Battlefield Earth." The Razzies, which reward cinematic putrescence, have tapped the L. Ron Hubbard/John Travolta fiasco for eight nominations. A remarkable feat, since there are only nine categories.

If the nose-hair fest sweeps the awards, it will go down as the worst movie ever and collect $34.16 worth of spray-painted plastic statuettes. Hey, that's about what it earned at the box office.
