Alamo follower allegedly violated probation

Associated Press/ May 28, 2009

Texarkana, Arkansas - An ex-follower of jailed evangelist Tony Alamo is accused of violating probation for allegedly selling counterfeit goods, 1 of the offenses he was charged with when he struck an earlier plea deal with prosecutors.

Leslie "Buster" White, 58, entered a "not true" plea in federal court Wednesday to allegations he violated a condition of his probation.

Federal prosecutors filed a petition on May 8 to revoke White's probation, arguing that he continued to operate his business illegally. Three days earlier government agents searched White's business and allegedly found batches of apparel with fake designer labels.

A hearing is set for late June. If White is found in violation, he could serve the remainder of his 2-year sentence in prison.
