Sexual Abuse

POLICE/COURTS

St. Louis Post Dispatch/September 26, 1992

Clayton: A former minister at Gospel Assembly Church in southwest St. Louis County is scheduled to stand trial this spring on charges that he molested three girls at the church in 1987 or 1988. The former minister, Thomas Jolly, 82, of Belleville, had been charged originally with sexually abusing two girls, ages 9 and 13. A third girl has since come forward with allegations of abuse; a St. Louis County grand jury indicted Jolly last month on additional charges of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of sodomy. The indictment says the girl was 12 or 13 years old when she was sexually abused at the church, 13169 Tesson Ferry Road, between Sept. 1, 1987, and October 15, 1987. Jolly is free on bond.
