Unchristian behaviour

Religion is the buttress many people turn to for help to cope with life's ups and downs. And when the church is able to provide support and help to its congregation then it is fulfilling one of its roles.

But warning bells have to be rung loud and clear when 'alternative' churches are set up by manipulative people who prey on the vulnerable for their own purposes.

Christianity is a religion whose followers abide by the teaching of of its founder, Jesus Christ. One of the ideals is to love one's neighbour as oneself and show mercy to those who do not live up to the standards that Christianity upholds.

Clearly, if the newly founded sect, the Church of Christ, is ostracising members because they do not always adhere to the rules of the church then they cannot, and should not, call themselves Christians.
