Culver City, California — A self-proclaimed psychic was arrested for allegedly scamming a client out of thousands of dollars to remove a curse.

Los Angeles police arrested 42-year-old Leslie Lee, who operated a psychic reading business in Culver City, for grand theft involving at least three victims, according to KTLA reported.

Police said one of the cases involved a Hollywood woman Lee met. She gained her trust and her to pay large sums of money to get rid of "negative energy" over an eight-year period, ABC7 reported. She allegedly asked for increasing sums of money to help rid the victim of the curse, and used rituals involving eggs to verify the curse was still present, the news station reported.

Lee promised to return the money to her victims, but never did, KTLA reported.

Detectives said they are searching for additional victims of the curse removal scam. LAPD told the news station that victims tend to be reluctant to report what's happening out of embarrassment and fear of judgement from family and friends.

Lee was booked into jail March 2 and released on $45,000 bond later the same day. She's scheduled to appear in court March 23, according to KTLA.
