Madonna Rips 'False' Stories About Kabbalah Centre, Raising Malawi Charity

The New York Post/April 6, 2011

Madonna attacked reports that The Kabbalah Centre was being investigated by authorities and a scathing Newsweek article on her charity, Raising Malawi, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Her rep, Liz Rosenberg, issued a statement Tuesday saying, "In recent days a number of wild and totally false rumors about Madonna's philanthropy - spread by bloggers and tabloids - have begun appearing on the internet. As we have said previously, Raising Malawi is currently undergoing a series of positive changes in an effort to serve more children. Neither Madonna nor Raising Malawi is being investigated by the FBI or the IRS."

A lawyer for The Kabbalah Centre, Mathew Rosengart, added, "It has not received any official notification of an investigation. If it does, it intends to cooperate fully."

The Kabbalah Centre and Raising Malawi recently signed up high-flying spin doctors, including Trevor Neilson and Mark Fabiani.
