Fulani Adviser Quits Charity

Independence Party honcho Lenora Fulani's closest adviser yesterday quit The All Stars Project, a charity group that is being investigated by state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer.

Fred Newman, a self-proclaimed "social therapist," said, "At this point in my life, I don't want any of the controversy associated with my views and opinions to create unnecessary difficulties for the All Stars Project."

His downfall began with The Post's revelation in June that Spitzer was looking into allegations of child abuse against the group, which aims to help troubled kids, insiders said.

After Spitzer began his probe, the city froze a $230,000 contract with the All Stars to provide after-school services.
