Colorado City residents grateful for investigator

Kingman, Ariz. -- Four Colorado City residents wrote letters to the Mohave County attorney thanking him for having an investigator work in their polygamous community.

A letter Mohave County Attorney Matt Smith received predicted "there will be bloodshed here unless there is outside intervention," but another notes many of the most devout members of a local sect are moving elsewhere.

The Mohave County Supervisors hired investigator Gary Engels last October. Much of Engels's work has focused on the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
