A “PSYCHIC” who claimed he appeared on TV has admitted sexually assaulting women during clairvoyant sessions.
John Starkey claims he appeared on ITV‘s This Morning, the Paul O’Grady Show and LBC Radio – among other shows.
A court heard the 74-year-old was first investigated by cops when a woman said he sexually assaulted her in Wolverhampton in 2018.
Several months later, he lured the same woman to a London hotel room, after falsely telling her other clients would be attending a meeting there.
Prosecutors said he sexually assaulted her under the pretence of a twisted “initiation” .
Traces of DNA were found on her underwear by cops who revisited the sick attack when another woman came forward, years later.
In 2022, Starkey worked out of a shop in Llandudno, advertising his services.
A young woman who was on holiday with her partner in Wales had an interest in “clairvoyance and massages”, and came in for a consultation.
The court heard she was sexually assaulted and immediately went to the cops.
A hearing was told Starkey offered her a naked massage and smacked her backside.
The 74-year-old was due to stand trial at Mold Crown Court in North Wales, but he changed his pleas and admitted three charges of sexual assault.
He was accused of five offences, dating back eight years.
Starkey claims to be an “internationally renowned clairvoyant” with 40 years of experience.
His website reads: “Clairvoyance is a fantastic tool to help both mind and heart cope with loss and life’s troubles. It can also help with forging a new pathway and direction in life.
“John performs psychic readings, hand readings and also tarot card readings.
“He will look for where success lies for you, the best avenues to take even if you feel there are none and positive pathways in love and relationships.”
It says his business is built on “integrity” and he offers home visits throughout the UK.
He claimed to work with a charity, raising money in his late wife’s memory.
His website includes a long list of supposed TV and Radio appearances by Starkey.
Starkey pleaded guilty to sexual assault by penetration, between April and October 2018, and two counts of sexual assault by touching in December 2016 and October 2022.
Andrew Jebb, defending, told the court he will ask for a medical report to be done on Starkey.
Judge Rhys Rowlands adjourned sentencing to next month.
However the “psychic” was warned to expect imprisonment.
The 74-year-old was granted bail in the meantime but ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register immediately.
