Court rejects lawsuit by Raëlian Church bishop against Ubisoft

The Gazette, Quebec/August 19, 2009

Quebec Court Judge Sylvie Lachapelle has rejected a $10,000 lawsuit brought against the Montreal office of world video game giant Ubisoft Entertainment by the bishop of the Raëlian Church.

Daniel Chabot had sued for moral and exemplary damages claiming he was discriminated against based on religion while he was the owner of local employee coaching firm APIE Inc.

Chabot had argued before Lachapelle that his training program at Ubisoft was cancelled after it was discovered he was a member of the Raëlians.
