Chesapeake Alliance appears to be the Baltimore branch of Trek Alliance in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Their offices are just south of Baltimore near BWI airport. They are now planning to set up another office in Alexandria, Virginia.
I went on "an appointment" with Chesapeake Alliance recently. The recruiter found me either through Monster.com or Hot Jobs.com. I was lured in by the promise of a job in sales for sports and heath products.
My girlfriend hounded me to get a new job and not to cut down every lead that called me. I explained to her that it was a solicitation and that I had never applied to Chesapeake Alliance.
Well, upon getting there for my 2:30 PM appointment I noticed a herd of other "interviewees" like me sitting around in the waiting room. I was told to sign in and that my recruiter would be with me in a minute. While I waited another recruiter was called in to greet me and keep me busy while my recruiter tied up some loose ends.
Subsequently I was invited into a conference room for a larger presentation about Chesapeake Alliance. Rock Music was playing when a speaker was not talking. The first speaker talked about their products such as a water filter, environmental friendly cleaning products, etc. Then the speaker did a water test with this kit using two water glasses. This took about 10 minutes. The next speaker talked about how to make money and said, "This is not a pyramid scheme." And then he blamed "Corporate America" for setting up an evil pyramid scheme. But he explained that with their system the "little guy" could gain as much knowledge as a CEO and make as much money. The third speaker went on about her own personal experience and then there was a skit/presentation.
At this point I told my recruiter that I had enough. But she asked me to wait for just one more presentation. We then were broken up into smaller groups. In a room with a smaller group I was confronted by the "top" sales person from the area and he asked, "Why? Why not Chesapeake Alliance? Don't you want to make money? Aren't you smart?" Well, that was it for me. I got up and left.
Years ago I bought some supplies from "BodyWise," which is associated with Trek Alliance. Now I know that they are all part of the same multi level marketing group. I just found out that there is nothing "on the books" in the State of Maryland to legally stop them.
I am upset that this type of scam is running free in America today. How many people are going to be duped out of their hard earned money or savings? Why? Because this is America and anything goes? Well, it shouldn't be that way!
