Trek Alliance Visitor Comments

"I was in Trek Alliance for quite some time, could tell you a thousand stories. But they were vanquished, thank goodness. Often I search the Internet when I have a moment for former Trekies and what no good they may be up to. See www.seedsofsuccess.com which is a company that includes former stars from Trek such as Joe Delisle, Steph Versteeg, Kate Gore, Travis Just, Galadriel Jung and Shawn Cuff. They were important people in Trek. It looks like they started another MLM. I wish that I had found your website before I got in with Trek and blinded."

"I was part of Trek Alliance for a few months. During that time I came across a website denouncing Trek Alliance and showed it to my 'sponsor.' He told me that it was just angry, but of course someone would be angry if a company that bases its figures on lies. Trek taught 'money is everything' and 'fake it till you make it.' I'm glad the friends I recruited are still my friends because most people wouldn't forgive you for making them lose thousands of dollars. I wish I had not ignored that website. I'd have a better credit rating now if I had listened to its advice. Anyone approached by a deceptive company like Trek should turn and run if they ask you to dish out money up front."

"I really appreciate what you are doing with your site related specifically to Trek Alliance. I too was duped by their lies and lost a substantial amount of money. Trek Alliance is currently under Federal Indictment for Deceptive Marketing Practices. Since that has happened I learned through one of my sources still involved that some people are being encouraged to move over to another company called Symmetry Corporation. I thought it may be beneficial to give you a heads up."

"I got back from an interview at Poudre Valley Alliance in Fort Collins, Colorado, which is one of the many aliases used by Trek Alliance. I left because the whole thing was weird. When I first tried to leave one of the guys there completely grilled me and literally said that I was crazy for wanting a 'normal' job. He just wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. One of the things that bothered me was that they equate money with happiness. Sure we all want money, but it doesn't automatically mean we're going to be happy. I'm happy that this company has been shut down, but feel sorry for those who got sucked in."

"I was with Trek for about two years, and fell for their lies at first. Then tried to make something decent out of it, but it didn't work. Really got hosed by the 'top money earners.' Since they have been shut down some of them are now operating with a company called New Vision."

"I was involved with Trek for over a year, but have been out for almost two years now. I truly have deep remorse about the people I recruited in my quest to get wealthy. I lost a total of $10,000.00 through my involvement with Trek. Sure I am angry at my sponsor who was a college friend, but I wish that I could find the nice people that I recruited and say that I am sorry. The owners should be put in jail. Locking them in a cell might make them think about all of the lives they ruined. Thanks for giving innocent people a place where they can find the truth before they are burned. Keep up the good work."

"Both my husband and I got involved with 'Rocky Mountain Alliance' aka Trek Alliance about two years ago. Since the day we left the organization, we have been working nonstop to pay off credit card bills, and loans totaling $25,000.00. We fell for their lies, deception and faulty ad and practices. I hope the Feds make them feel, pay and suffer like we now are."

"Just so you know, there is a Trek Alliance office in Federal Way, WA called Sound Alliance. I wish I had discovered your web site before I got involved. Thanks for all your efforts."

"Just want to say that you have an awesome site and I take my hat off to you for doing such a good job exposing companies like Trek and the scumbag leaders that prey on innocent people and mislead them."

"I lost over $15,000. If anyone knows of the deceit and misconduct that was involved I sure as hell do. I was 'trained' to speak/lie in front of rooms full of people and was persuaded to take whatever I could from them, whether that meant their savings or their retirement. See, my punch line was that I was working with the 'top money earner,' a married man whom I later found out was sleeping with one of my associates! And according to one of his long time and trusted assistants (slaves) this definitely wasn't the first time. They don't have a 'passion' for bettering others' lives, only their own. And they're highly manipulative. Thank you for your work and saving other people out there from these cons."

"My horrific experience with Trek Alliance began with an appointment in October of 2002. I went to see what this company was all about. At the office several others were filing into what looked like a warehouse. Loud music was blaring and it seemed more like a party than a job interview. They did a big presentation with PowerPoint, but I wasn't buying it. Several people left, but I stuck it out. They explained the payout scheme, residual income, retiring at 30 etc. At the end I was tired, hungry and they wouldn't let me leave. I was cornered by their 'top earners,' who sat and talked with me. However, nobody really gave me an explanation of what the job entailed. Finally, I signed up for the training program and said I'd meet them that weekend for drinks in Baltimore. I never went. But these losers still call me. I have to screen all my calls. People should know about this scam. I don't want someone to fall prey to these vultures."

"My experience with Trek Alliance is filled with such a lack of integrity. They have leadership training, which is not a leadership seminar, but a way to make more money out of their trusting reps. They want you to deceive people about the company to get them in the door and then have their 'demonstration.' They distort every aspect of their business. For example, their hair products are formulated by Paul Brown. Brown was supposedly once a partner of Paul Mitchell, but disagreed with his idea of using more chemicals. Pure B.S.! I called them on it. There was no relationship with Paul Mitchell whatsoever. They mislead and bamboozle. Two of their stars came to me to discuss opening up an office. Apparently, the 'real way' to make great money is open up an office and clear a profit from renting out space. Profits from the rents of their dedicated reps. Incredible!"

"Thanks for your information regarding Trek Alliance and its managers. I was recently contacted out of the blue by one of their recruiters in Palatine, Illinois. The interviewer kept insisting upon a face-to-face interview. I declined, and said that I would contact them after doing my own research. Boy am I thankful that I did so."

"I live in Minnesota [where] Trek [is known as] 'Majestic Enterprise' in Roseville, which is near St. Paul. They called, but did not mention anything about Trek Alliance until I got there and saw the products. They wanted me to buy either a $300, $900, $2,000, or $4,000 package. I told them that I didn't have any money or a credit card and just wanted to begin with a 'starter kit.' They finally said 'fine!' But after a little research, I decided not to go to the next appointment."

"I was called last week for an 'interview' with Bay State Marketing Group in Waltham, MA, whose parent company Trek, is out of LakeTahoe, Nevada. They found my resume on HotJobs. The presentation seemed a little cultish. There were reps in the audience that seemed to feed into a kind of brainwashing. At the end of the presentation a few people left. Then they pitched the $47 starter kit, product parties, etc. We were told another rep was flying in that evening for training that began the next day. I could not find ANYTHING under the new name they used on the Internet. I think they are sneaky!"

"Your website rocks. Good thing I didn't schedule that interview!"

"'Liberty Alliance' is name Trek uses in Media, Pennsylvania. That was the name of they told me when I was contacted. They were supposedly a new company just starting up and 'looking for people.' My meeting was the same as all the others at an office with loud music, jokes, nice people, who were all there to make money. I noticed that they came from all walks of life. Mothers with young children, students and displaced management--all looking for a job in these hard times. Of course I needed to buy the starter kit for $47. To make it short, I got out with a promise to come back with my money the next day. Because they didn't use the name Trek Alliance at first, I couldn't find anything about them on the Net. People should know they use the name 'Liberty Alliance' Pennsylvania."

"After posting my resume on hotjobs.com to a company called 'Bay Street Marketing,' I received a call from 'Central Florida Marketing Group,' who gave me an interview right away. I asked for a website to visit in order to gain further information on the company and was told to visit their parent company site at Trek.com, which led me to learn about Trek Alliance. I just wanted to write and let people know that in the Orlando area Trek is going by the name Bay Street Marketing or Central Florida Marketing."

"Just to let you know that Trek Alliance is now in Orlando, Florida, under the name 'Central Florida Marketing Group.' Of course, I didn't find out it was Trek Alliance until I got there and sat through the group presentation. As soon as I heard about the $47 application fee, I told them I had to go to the bathroom and never came back."

"My resume was plucked by Trek from FlipDog.com and I wasted an hour at their presentation. I smelled a dead rat. The presentation was at 12075 E. 45th Ave. Suite 325 in Denver, CO. They also ran an ad in the Boulder Daily Camera. But I did some research. Good work."

"I just wanted to thank you for creating your website. I was contacted by Trek and I went to an informational interview. I was lured by the idea of residual income although cynical. They even named some authors who have been profiled on 'Oprah' including 'Think and Grow Rick' by Napoleon Hill and 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' by Kyosaki. I bought a starter kit and felt like I wasn't receiving enough info. Thank G-d I did a web search of Trek Alliance and found the one site not maintained by those scammers."

"I was in trek for about 7 months and lost about $6,000. $200 per training, $400 monthly desk rent, $70 per month for a phone line. Most people in Trek have bad credit, can barley support themselves and are always borrowing money. Almost everyone had part-time jobs. But we could not tell new people--because what would that make us look like? They said we would market products, but the only thing they ever seemed to talk about was recruitment. They really brainwashed me."

"I went to one of their 'interviews' WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME! I wish that I had known their true name before I got all dressed up and wasted my time. The problem was when she left a message on my phone she said 'Chesapeake Group' not 'Alliance,' so all my searching on the Internet did no good. There should be some sort of law against this. Thank you for your website, it confirmed my gut feeling."

"I recently moved to Raleigh, NC and placed my resume on HotJobs.com in hopes of finding a job in the area. I, too, was contacted by a person under the disguise of 'Carolina Marketing Group,' but my caller ID said 'Tarheel Alliance.' I was told the company, a manufacturer based in Colorado, was expanding in my area and that they 'marketed health and wellness products to doctors and had several sales/marketing/training/customer service positions available.' I agreed to an 'informational overview' that would be in a group setting. But the next day I called and canceled, because it just didn't feel right. I received a return call and got a web address which was for Trek and was told about a night meeting with a corporate representative. Their website was basically worthless, but I did find more information about Trek on the Internet at other sites like yours. Thanks."

"Chesapeake Alliance called me and said they found my name on Monster.com. Thank you so much for posting the information on this company. You saved me some pain and aggravation. I appreciate your efforts."

"A+ is the grade that I give you and your site! Thank God for you and your work. There are millions of religious and professional scams out there with the intention to take control of the weak and venerable. I contacted by Bayside Alliance (front name for Trek Alliance). The representative told me that they were interested in my Human Relations background for training and recruiting. They had an ad in the paper entitled 'Corporate Athlete claiming positions in PR/HR/MGMT/MKT.' What a scam! I almost wasted my time and energy."

"I was in Trek Alliance for almost a year. In Indianapolis, IN it is known as 'Midwest Alliance.' I was fairly successful, but began investigating and matched names with titles on their disclosure statement. I realized that only six to eight reps, out of the thousands that had purchased inventory, made six figures."

"I can't believe how many people have just fallen off the turnip truck and think they are actually going to get rich. The only ones that usually do, are typically people at the top. It takes money to make money, and they are not going to get mine."

"I just started my job search and scheduled an interview with 'Bayside Alliance' in Tampa. After viewing your website I decided to cancel and save myself a trip downtown. Being fed a line is not my idea of an interview. You know, they called me three times in one day trying to get me to come in anyway."

"Trek Alliance is now going by the name 'Dynamics International' in the Chicago area. They called me and said they were looking for someone in my field to do some work. I asked what the job was, but the man said that would be discussed during my interview. When I walked in, they were playing loud music. My gut instinct told me to leave, but I decided to stay and find out more. First some guys made speeches and then a rep was supposed to talk to us one on one. I left after someone said we would have to pay $10 for our next meeting. I cannot believe people get caught up in such get rich quick schemes. It felt that everyone there was getting set up. It all reminded me of what was I first learned back in High School and later at College, there is no way to get rich quick."

"I am a resident of Maryland and recently received a recruitment call from 'Chesapeake Alliance' [aka Trek Alliance]. I looked around on the web and found your pages. The organization found my resume on hotjobs.com, which is similar site to monster.com."

"I just want to thank you for posting information about Trek Alliance on your web site. About one month ago I received an e-mail telling me that a company had reviewed my resume over the Internet and would like me to contact them to set up an interview. Before I called, I did my homework and ran into your site. Then I received another phone message from a guy claiming he works for a company called 'Chesapeake group' over in Baltimore and that he had also read my resume on the Internet. I did call him back and was told the company was looking for people for a management training program. I later learned that this company is located in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The man who called set up an appointment for me and said his company would soon set up an office in the D.C. area. I asked if he could give me the company's web site address to learn more about them and he directed me to 'trekalliance.com.' I must be more cautious. Needless to say I called back to cancel my appointment. The company address in Maryland is on Airport Park Road in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Again, thank you very much."

"I can't thank you enough for posting information on Trek Alliance on your site. I received a voicemail message yesterday from a guy at 'Chesapeake Alliance' who claimed he saw my resume on the Internet and was interested in talking to me about what kind of position I was looking for. I posted my resume on Hotjobs.com the day before he called. When I called him back this morning, I was given vague, misleading information and then invited to come to their office by the BWI airport for a group interview. He said a high-level executive was flying in to talk to everyone and would answer my questions about the company. I was cautious after not finding a website for Chesapeake Alliance, but eventually I found your site. I'm not going tonight."

"I'm from Kansas City, Missouri. I received a phone call from Trek Alliance the other day. They found my resume on Monster.com. The lady who called wanted me to come in for a interview and said that they were opening more offices in this area. I asked if they had a website with an overview of their company. But when I did some more checking I came across your site."

"Thanks very much for the information on your site. I had a call yesterday from 'Carolina Marketing Group' in Raleigh, NC. I was told that they were opening a new office in Raleigh, and that because they were doing so much hiring, my 'interview' would actually consist of a 'company overview' with other applicants. When I asked what position they were hiring for, I was told 'sales/marketing' and/or 'recruiting/training.' It actually sounded like a real opportunity. After I set an interview I did some research. Then I immediately called them back and asked if this was really Trek Alliance. They said, 'Yes.' I then promptly told them I was not interested. I wonder how many people show up thinking they may be getting a job, only to be disappointed that this is one of those 'get rich quick' schemes? How misleading and cruel, especially in this economic climate, when jobs are so difficult to come by."

"I recently came across a job listing for 'The Carolina Marketing Group' in Monster.com, Boston, MA area, which claimed they were expanding in New England. In conducting my job search, I make it a habit to research companies before I contact them or submit a resume. A search for this company turned up several entries for your site, which led me to believe I should save my energy and steer clear of them! I decided it would be worth my time, however, to write this note of thanks to you."

"I just want to sincerely thank you for this website. In the last 3 days it kept me from starting business ventures with both Herbalife and Trek alliance. I hope you realize the amounts of money and personal anguish you save so many people. I know you did me."

"There is Trek Alliance office in Dayton, Ohio that goes by the name of 'Views.' They nearly got me."

"Thank you so much for posting this information. I was almost a victim of the 'Carolina Marketing Group' located in Raleigh, NC. I have been out of work for several months and was surprised and a little excited, to get a call from this company out of the blue. They said they found my resume on Monster.com. and had several positions, which I would fit. When I called back the girl told me that she was working from home and didn't have my resume on hand. I realized after a few minutes that she had never even looked over my resume. She did not give me an overview of any particular job position, but instead said that they were hiring for Sales/Promotion or Recruiting/Training positions. She then asked to set up an interview. But I did some research and found your site. You saved me a lot of time and possibly money. Thanks again."

"I just returned from a session with Trek Alliance. They are working under another name in Austin, Texas, here they are called 'Austin Alliance.' I didn't sign up for anything because I wanted to research them first."

"I received a call from a guy who said he found my resume on Monster.com and that his four-year-old company 'Chesapeake Alliance,' is 'recession proof.' After less than two minutes of conversation it became obvious that he had never even read my resume. I smelled pyramid scheme. FYI, Trek Alliance (aka 'Chesapeake Alliance') is alive and well in Baltimore, Maryland out by BWI Airport."

"Your website saved me a lot of time, grief and money. When I called back to tell them that I couldn't make the informational meeting, the woman was very upset and ended our conversation by saying, 'You shouldn't believe what you hear from the internet' and I'll be 'reading about them in the paper someday.' Yeah right, probably another lawsuit. Thanks a lot."

"I was recently contacted by "Bayside Alliance," which turned out to be the front name for Trek Alliance in Tampa Florida. They found my name and telephone number on Monster.com. Their 'interview' consisted of a group presentation to 23 people about 'health care' products and than a short video on how to get rich quick. This was followed by a presentation on commission riches. I left immediately after the presentation and didn't stay for the one-on-one 'interviews.'"

"I just read about 'Pacific Alliance' and/or Trek Alliance in the San Diego area. They have spread like locusts and are now operating in the Irvine area of Orange County, Southern California. They have morphed into 'Irvine Alliance.' My experience here was exactly like the resident in San Diego. I smelled something foul, asked several question, which then went unanswered over the phone. I never went to their meeting."

"I just got a call from Carolina Marketing Group (Trek Alliance) in Raleigh, NC regarding their interest in me as a future employee. I cannot tolerate these legal pyramid schemes. There are a countless number of them out there. These schemes are usually legal, but the business model is plainly a pyramid. They recruit 'Mr. Unsuspecting' and make him pay, usually a large amount of money, to get into the business, which usually involves obtaining a 'starter kit.' Then Mr. Unsuspecting goes out and tries to peddle the product and realizes that he can only make pennies on the dollar. The only way for Mr. Unsuspecting to make money is to bring in more people under him, which he gets a significant amount of money for. Now the profit sharing starts to take effect. The person at the bottom gives a certain amount of money per sale and/or per recruitment to the person above him. Then that person in turn gives a portion of the money up to another level and so on. Pyramid companies are for the most part legal, because they have a product and/or service to sell. As a recent college graduate, I am actively looking for employment. But I'd rather be unemployed, than get anywhere near one of these pyramid companies. I am going to call Carolina Marketing Group today and tell them that they will have an easier time 'selling ice to an Eskimo' than convincing me to join up."

"Through Monster.com my loving husband answered an advertisement. He came home ready to make millions and thought I should go the next morning. They had the nerve to keep my husband on the phone through the dinner hour! I ran to my computer to find information on the Internet. My husband would not listen to me until he read your material. The tears ran down his face because he felt so used! Glad you were there."

"I am a former Trek Alliance distributor who was once suckered into the hoopla of retiring early and getting a residual income. Your website is very informative and has hopefully helped people from getting scammed. I was in the company for about a year and a half and believed everything good that I was told and ignored everything bad. Trek has opened up new offices in Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Phoenix under the names, 'Mountain Edge Alliance' and 'Sun Solar Solutions.' Please warn people about any potential 'business opportunities' or 'interviews' conducted by these offices."

"I read statements about Trek Alliance and the same exact thing happened to me. It amazes me that a company has to lie to you making you believe that they are interested in your resume and talents. This is the first 'pyramid scheme' meeting I've been to. I was quite annoyed at how they try to become your instant friend knowing they may make money from you joining their 'sales force.'"

"I believe Mountain Edge Alliance is a spin-off of Trek Alliance. I went to my 'interview' today and discovered that my experience, while brief, was exactly the same as others have said through your Web page. My sponsor was a young female. I left after the video presentation, but only one other person left with me. We talked as we left and both agreed that this was some sort of scheme or scam. It seems that Trek Alliance is operating in Scottsdale, Arizona under the name 'Mountain Edge Alliance.'"

"BEWARE! Mountain Edge Alliance is scouring the Southern California pages of Monster.com. I had my resume posted on Monster to see what responses I would get and had an interview with them. I'm a pretty smart businessman and after realizing that Trek Alliance [aka Mountain Edge Alliance] was a scam I got up and left the building. Someone then followed me out and continued to try and convince me to join. After a few months I received a call from a company called 'Mountain Edge Alliance.' BEWARE--they are the same company."

"I was very relieved to find your site. After going to Trek Alliance group interviews I left confused. I was confused because I felt like I was not being given complete information and every time I asked question I never got the full story. Their approach kind of fools you, but I wanted to know if you would get paid a minimum no matter what. I never got an answer."

"I almost became a victim. I posted my resume on the Internet (monster.com) and received a call from a company calling themselves 'Mountain Edge Alliance.' I agreed to an 'interview' and when I showed up Scottsdale I was amongst a group of about 40 people. We were given an 'overview' of the company. I stayed and was given a further overview. I was sold on the 'program' and going to start devoting my free time after work to try it out. I did a search for Trek Alliance (the parent company of Mountain Edge Alliance) and luckily your web site came up. I then called the guy who recruited me and told him to take his scam and shove it. Thanks a million!"

"[Trek Alliance] is an organization founded by ex 'heavy hitters' from Equinox International. They are suprisingly using the same methods that they used to teach at Equinox [sic]. Even though Equinox was shut down, they have no shame about rolling right along. I can't figure out why they aren't terrified to do the take the exact same approach [sic] that got Equinox indicted by over 10 states."

"Thank you for posting the testimonial about Trek. I was hoping to find such information out there--contrary to what they lead you to believe. I was sure many people must fail at it."

"I received a phone call from a woman purporting to be with the 'The Alliance Group' concerning a management opportunity. I ran a check and found 'Trek Alliance' at the same address. She located my information through a resume/job posting site called 'monster.com.' She claimed that her company was interested in offering me a management position marketing health and environmental related items. I suspected an multi-level marketing organization. I then searched the name 'Trek Alliance' and was directed to your site. Thank you for your research."

"I just finished reading your section on Equinox, the predecessor to Trek Alliance and I feel like vomiting. I am just now coming to the realization that Trek Alliance is Equinox with just a couple of tweaks [sic]. All of the lies about a totally different approach are just that--lies [sic]. One of the reasons they are so successful is that it is very hard to find negative information on the Internet. Please do whatever it takes to make sure your site comes up in searches. Your site would have saved me over $30,000.00 through my lost "business investment."

"Just a note of thanks for your postings about Trek Alliance and its affiliates: I received a suspect e-mail (sender address from Hotmail, no job description, no company information or URL, after posting my resume on Monster.com. And was quite likely saved the headache of contacting their recruiter and interviewing. Very much appreciated."

"As it turns out West Coast [Trek] Alliance never called me back--so I'm safe from them at least. I still keep getting calls from Mountain Edge Alliance, because they keep pulling up the same resume from Monster.com."

"Hey I also received an email from someone about a job opportunity after posting my resume on Monster.com. I just went online to do some research on the company and that's when I came across your site. WOW AM I GLAD I DID!"
