A Spouse Speaks Out About Sterling

I just found your information about the [Sterling] Men's Weekend. My husband has been involved in this group since 1993. It's too bad I didn't have this information before he went on the weekend. I never liked the idea from the beginning because it was a very secretive thing and no one knew what the weekend was all about.

We are now recently separated and I believe it is because of this group. I have seen him change over the past 5 years. He used to talk to me more about what he thought and what he was feeling. But that has changed over the years. He is now a completely different person and very involved in this group. He is on a "team" and goes once a week for training--whatever that is. [He also] goes to meetings two or three times a week and is on the phone all the time. It's just gotten to the point that he is obsessed with this group--I think it is his life now.

It's very sad--he has distanced his family, old friends and now me. The only people he associates with is other Sterling men. It's been a constant battle and I am very sad that this has happened. I just can't believe that our relationship would come to this after [so many] years. It's very sad.
