Boston -- The Attleboro sect member who is serving a life sentence for starving his infant son to death wants a new trail.
Jacques Robidoux wants to use an insanity plea. He recently filed an appeal claiming he was brainwashed by the group. The claim is similar to the mind-control argument that led a jury to clear Robidoux's wife, Karen, of murder charges last year.
A cult deprogrammer who has frequently met with Robidoux behind bars told the Boston Herald that Robidoux has stepped away from the group and understands things in ways that he didn't before.
