A radical Islamist sect has claimed responsibility for two bombings that killed at least seven people at the offices of a major Nigerian newspaper.
In a statement published Thursday night by the Premium Times website, a spokesman for Boko Haram said it would attack media again over what the group felt was inaccurate coverage.
A journalist with long-standing ties to the sect later told The Associated Press that the statement came from the group. The journalist spoke on condition of anonymity over concerns about his safety.
A suicide bomber attacked the Abuja office of ThisDay newspaper on Thursday morning, as another bomber attacked an office that ThisDay shared with other newspapers in Kaduna.
Boko Haram has been blamed for hundreds of deaths in Nigeria this year alone.
