NXIVM's Mexican branch shuts down

Mexico -- The Mexican branch of NXIVM, a Capital Region based "self-help group" has been shut down.

NXIVM has been said to have "cult-like" operations masquerading as a company that "promotes human potential."

A notice with Thursday’s date on it was posted to ESP-Mexico’s website saying activities and collaboration with ESP Mexico will be concluded.

The company is also severing ties on a professional and economic level with the U.S. based NXIVM corporation and related entities.

This coming as NXIVM's leader Keith Raniere appeared in a Brooklyn federal court yesterday to be arraigned on several charges including sex trafficking.
