Tammy Lewis is expected to appear in court Friday for a status conference.
Lewis is accused of keeping the body of a 90-year-old woman on the toilet of her Necedah home.
Lewis' attorney and the Juneau County District Attorney met in July to discuss a plea deal in the case, but no details are known about it at this time.
Lewis is facing several charges, including being party to hiding a corpse, party to theft, and party to causing mental harm to a child.
Investigators say Lewis and her self-styled religious leader Alan Bushey kept the body of a follower in the bathroom of Lewis' home in order to keep collecting the woman's social security and annuities. They say Lewis' children were living in the home at the time.
Bushey is also facing charges in the crime.
